Happy Independence Day Greece! Pictures from last August's trip to Athens, Delphi, and Karpathos

Today is the day Greeks celebrate their independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1821.

Last August, I traveled to Greece with my family. We saw Athens, Delphi, and then the island of Karpathos. This was one of the most amazing trips I have taken. I learned so much and saw more than I could have imagined. The Greek people welcomed me and my family with open arms and made us feel very welcome in their country, not to mention the fact that they fed us like kings.

Here are some pictures from that wonderful trip.

Places include:

Central Athens: The Parthenon, Temple of Olympian Zeus, Mount Lycabettus, Monastiraki and the Plaka, Syntagma Square
Delphi (Fokida): Ruins of the Temple of Apollo and the Museum
Karpathos: Arkasa, Pigadia, Olympos

Nice pictures. Also if you had a meal at Thanassis (one of your pictures) then you were a lucky tourist because it's probably the only souvlaki place that is really good in that area.
